WHO WE ARE! Landscape engineering and design, llc IS A CONSORTIUM OF ENGINEERS, AGRICULTURE experts, RESEARCHERS, AND BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS Who ARE DEDICATED TO USING INNOVATIVE, CREATIVE AND SCIENTIFICALLY SOUND METHODS TO ADDReSS ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS USING NATURE BASED SOLUTIONS
1
CARBON SEQUESTRATION
Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on earth. Therefore, bamboo is able to sequester the largest volume of carbon of any tree, grass or plant. By using specific species of bamboo, we can sequester approximately 40 tons of carbon per acre, per year.
2
CUSTOMIZED BIOCHAR
bamboo biochar can be modified in production to remove specific pollutants effectively and economically
We use a clean production process that is eco-friendly and sustainable in order to minimize any negative impact on the environment.
3
Enriched soil amendment
At the end of the biochars life as a filtration medium it is reused as a high nutrient soil ammendment and mineral supplement
completing the circle
Biochar Production
Landscape Engineering and Design provides biochar manufacturing services using the latest technology and innovative practices to create customized activated charcoal products that efficiantly and economically reduces pollutants from our water
Filtration Solutions
Our ability to manufacture large amounts of biochar allows us to provide users with signicant material to absorb large volumes of polutants. Our method of production allows us to sustain a continous, reliable and scalable source for filtration materials .
bamboo farming
L.E.A.D. works closely with growers to farm specific varients of Bamboo. The species are selected for thier ability to absorb large quantities of CO2 from the air prior to being used as a feedstock for activate charcoal production. Bamboo has specific physical characteristics that allow for the maximum absorption of phosphorous when converted to activated charcoaol
completing the circle
Once our modified biochar has absorbed the maximum amount of phosphorous and nitrogen in the poluted water, we create a high nutrient, high carbon, soil ammendment. By utilizing the captured NPK from the spent material we can reintroduce these captured nutrients to improve soil that has been depleted, By returning these fertilizer componetns to farm land we complete the environmental circle.
Crash Crops
In conjunction with our environmental programs, Landscape Engineering and Design has initiated a unique and innovative method for using living materials to provide softer barriers to protect drivers in lane departure incidents. By capiitiizing on the unique physical characteristics of specific species of bamboo, we can reduce the kinetic energy of vehicals involved in high speed collisions This controlled impact method is superior to traditional guardrails. By absorbing some of the energy released in a crash we can lessen the severity of injuries created by sudden impact. This softer barrier technique is a superior and far less expensive alternative to the metal concrete systems. An additional advantage to using living bamboo barriers, is the sequestration of large quanties of CO2 from the air. Once installed the barriers will live for up to fifty years with little additional costs.
